Emma Isabella
Originally from Sweden the former Berlin-resident is now based in Paris, but she kept her residency at the infamous, local mini-club Sameheads in the German capital. She’s hosting a monthly show at the Paris antenna of LYL Radio exploring music raging from new wave, ambient, rock, synth-pop, electronic, musique concrete, jazz and all sounds in between – live she plays with the firm determination to keep it fun, and some-what prestige less.
IYE
IYE is an experimental duo project by Paulius Janusonis and Vytautas Franukevičius, rooted in rethinking the Americanised Eastern European street culture through new forms of rap and performance art. Both artists grew up in the post-soviet suburb of Vilnius called Pilaitė, which inspired their grimey and tragicomic aesthetic. Temporality, (a)morality, mental health, and transcendence are topics often explored in IYE's work, inspired by their personal experiences and contemporary geopolitical issues. At times provocative and unsettling, the duo is known for pushing audiences out of their comfort zones and playing with the concept of normality.
Liudmila
Liudmila is a bittersweet bedroom fantasy inviting the audience to wander off to the land of teenage cool and second-hand hype, to share the angst of misfits dreaming big. It’s an auto-tuned pop bang fanfic, a glossy mirage of the big stage and the big break. Liudmila is an alter-ego for a loose constellation of artists, mainly featuring Milda Januševičiūtė and Miša Skalskis.
Thelma Cappelo
Thelma Cappello is a shakespearean botanist. In the musical piece she takes us to, a court camouflages or mutates into an English garden. Her work’s evolutivity crosses over pre-existing and exclusionary categories. Through including many milieux, she makes layers rhyme with ailleurs. But let’s use this image: a larger than life theater one would want to hear through a microscope. Her vocal technique blurs the eyes and then reveals desire paths leading to unforeseen clearings. Laying in a parterre of bedsheets, we follow along a tempo of temporary feelings, as if in a half-sleep,. Voice tracks meet, enlighten and superimpose each other and so create an ethereal dramaturgy. At the discretion of an atmospheric musicality kept behind shut lips, complaints ajar the surrounding darkness with a flair lumineux (light flares). As a self-taught craftsperson, looking everywhere for secrets & gardens. In a weathered ecosystem, she knows seasons are also verbs: they winter, spring, summer & fall.
Midnight to 5 a.m : Radio Vilnius invites for a night the electronic/post jazz the ensemble Santaka, the DJ and producer Rxoxymore in a B2B set with DJ JM, resident at Radio Vilnius, Aiste Regina, and the duo of acolytes Ivan Smagghe and Manfredas (Dresden) for the closing!
Ivan Smagghe x Manfredas (Dresden)
Dresden is both the DJ duo of Manfredas & Ivan Smagghe and a party series. The two artists met over a decade ago at the legendary Vilnius party Smala, where Manfredas was a resident and gave Ivan a USB stick with tracks good enough for him to start his label Les Disques De La Dead. There has always been a strong bond of all kinds between the two, but the pandemic pushed them to create something strong: Dresden was born at Opium Vilnius in November 2021.
DJ JM x rRoxymore
Originally from Toulouse and based in Berlin, rRoxymore is as respected for her esoteric and offbeat club tracks as she is for her semi-improvised live performances. His energy and unique style have earned him a place among the most essential artists on the fringes of contemporary club culture. She has mixed at the most respected clubs, such as Berghain, Oval Space, Fabric and MOMA's PS1 series, as well as a series of cutting-edge festivals such as Unsound, Mira, Nuits Sonores and Field Maneuvers.
Originally from Vilnius, DJ JM is inspired by European club scenes. In the 2010s, he quickly became a notable figure in the UK club scene. In 2020, JM lives in Brussels. Regularly invited by Kiosk Radio, he collaborated with Le Motel on an EP for Maloca Records which allowed him to explore rhythmic bass music. Since 2022, JM has returned to Copenhagen, with a recent project with very effective and groovy sounds.
Santaka (LIVE)
Manfredas, the Lithuanian DJ and producer everyone in Vilnius knows, and drummer Marijus Aleksa, create Santaka, an organic/electronic post-jazz project (call it what you will) with releases on Byrd Out and the legendary Finnish label Sahko, as well as a live project oscillating between danceable and experimental sounds.
Aiste Regina
She hits the scene with hypnotizing grooves, urban tribals, acid ethnos and super funs of house & disco. Originally from Vilnius, she doesn’t skip a season of developing the music scene by the seaside. That’s why some of her sets became a legend. Aiste Regina also runs party series ‘WHOOP’ at Opium Club with her colleague Donatas Chipak as an already celebrated duo and hosts her own show ‘Scene Unseen’ on Radio Vilnius.
