TERRAFORMA : Donato Dozzy + Lolina & Dr Pit (live) + Heith
- Donato Dozzy
Few DJs and producers are as widely and universally acclaimed in techno circles as Italian Donato Dozzy. He has a rare ability to work his way into peoples' minds in both contemporary and classical settings, conjuring real mood and atmosphere. Never one to pay heed to the zeitgeist, he prefers to deal in hypnotic soundscapes that really take you on a trip.
`Enigmatic as he is, and laidback as he seems, as an artist he is constantly unveiling new work. Displaying a large variation in terms of sound and method across many new releases each year--some of
which come on his co-owned label Spazio Disponibile--he also puts out installations for public spaces and museums, uses obscure musical instruments, collaborates with likeminded producers, classical singers or visual artists. Donato seems to continuously challenge himself on a creative level: whatever method he uses, though, he is always likely to permeate your cerebral cortex and rewire it in fascinating and compelling new ways.
- Lolina & Dr Pit (live)
“Late at night, we had good seats by the counter of a cocktail bar with a terrace opening up to an unexpected view” Dr. Pit and Lolina say of their first meeting.
"Lolina's Music Is The Drug Dr. Pit Vista Mare Version” is the first Relaxin Records release by Dr. Pit, one half of the band Primitive Art. For Vista Mare version, he operates on Lolina's "Music Is The Drug”, the single from her 2022 album “Face The Music”. Following their first collaborative live show at Terraforma Festival in the summer of 2023, Lolina & Dr. Pit will perform at La Gaîté Lyrique on the 31st of March !
- Heith
Heith’s music crosses many different sonic landscapes, but it sets ground on a no man’s land of electronic music, where organic and digital clash thoroughly and constantly. Often reminiscing confusion and puzzlement, his music sets the ground for a mediated conflict between different practices, something that was extremely clear in his latest opus “X, wheel”, released by PAN in October 2022, where synths, percussion and electronic often occupy and dispute the same space as organic elements, such as guitar. This renders his music extremely textural, thus visual and rhythmic, surpassing the over-explored European tradition of melody-harmony above all, in a contemporary ritualistic form yet to be mapped. After the establishment of his label Haunter Records in 2013, he became part of the curatorial team of Milan’s legendary space Macao. He released a bunch of EPs (Laguna 2018, Mud 2019, Lo Zoo di Venere 2020) and collaborated with several artists including Puce Mary, Visio, Kareem Lotfy and Jesse Osborne-Lanthier.
Terraforma
Terraforming is the theoretical process in which life on a planet becomes possible through the creation of an atmosphere. Terraforma is the manifest of our belief that new dimensions can now be Terraformed. Started in 2014 as a music festival in Villa Arconati, Terraforma has evolved into a comprehensive curatorial platform dedicated to practices operating within the spectrum of sound and ecology.
Throughout the years Terraforma introduced innovative experiential and editorial formats such as Terraforma Journal, Il Pianeta Come Festival, and Terraforma Simposio. In February 2024, Terraforma introduced Exo, a new cultural manifestation whose first edition will take place on June 15th and 16th in Milan’s Parco Sempione. The curatorial program will encompass live performances, installations, sound walks, and panel discussions featuring leading thinkers, musicians, and artists who operate within the spectrum of sound and ecology.
